1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)
Less than 30K

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?

d. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
e. Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen

3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
NO

4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
I need it primerily for Picture Editing. Will run Photoshop CS5 , Lightroom. And if i could work on premier pro for video editing then that will be and advantage but not on priority.

5) What screen resolution(s) & type (glossy/matte) would you prefer?
Not too sure but should be good enough to see the photographs.

6) Anything else you would like to say? (eg: local purchase, ASS,matte/glossy finish)

Need to use it for photo editing. If the price difference of 2-3 thousand i wouldn't mind compromising with Performance for about 10-15%.

As you gonna do photo editing I suggest you to go for a laptop with a minimum i5 processor.
This is the best option in your budget right now:
Asus P53E-SO059D

Wait for Trinity.

Guys please stop suggesting it before it comes out in market, suggest from the ones available in market right now.
I don't think it is gonna come anytime soon in laptops in India.Atleast not before July I think(or end of June)

No one is forcing someone to wait, if the OP wants to wait he can, and if he doesn't, then purely his/her choice. Moreover he hasn't mentioned that he needs laptop urgently, thus the suggestion. If ever Trinity goes too late like Llano, then IB is always there. You don't buy these things daily, so it should be total worthy in return of your money. :)

Ya I agree that we don't buy such things daily and it should be totally worthy but I am having a feeling that it will get late just like Llano, and as we all know it is gonna launch in some time and we all know that it will take some time for companies to make laptops having that and also if they make it they won't sell because firstly they will clear their old stocks and then only the new thing will come in market.
And I have seen a lot of times that AMD tries to come out with something good, and their product gets hyped before even they come in market. But when it comes it is just not as expected and no one buys it.Hope its not the case now.

And one thing to OP, I think he should prefer atleast some graphic card laptop that has a i5 processor as it will be required in Photo editing and all

@Sujay- I think we should stop discussion now, as it is never gonna end.
And now just let us wait and let OP reply to our posts :)

Thanks all for your replies.

Based on all the replies two things are pretty clear:

Wait for Trinity or go for i5.

My question would be, how much do you think Trinty gonna cost in indian Market and will it worth waiting for considering my usage.

Second thing i want to mention is that I had plans to assemble a desktop in 3-4 months, and so far i have zeroed on to i5 or FX 8120.

So do you guys think that it would be a good option to assemble the PC now and wait for Trinity and if the answer is NO then please suggest a Laptop in current market best suitable for me within the price range. 30k is the max i wanna spent on a laptop right now.

Regards
Vinay

^^ assemble pc now & wait for Trinity/Ivy Bridge based laptop. Trinity laptops without any discrete gpu will cost less than 30k but almost all manufacturer add some sort of lowend discrete gpu. still expected pricing is 30k or less.
