LAN Problem...

Hello friends!

I have two desktop connected to each other through a switch. When I had initially set up a LAN between then, every thing worked fine. I was able to access files and internet from both computers. Recently I am not able to access files of the other computer although internet is working fine. I reconfigured my LAN settings, but it still wouldnt allow me to access files of other computer. I tried to Ping and it works fine.

Can you guys please help me with this.

did you check the workgroup? i mean the group your pcs belong to?have you configured a server-node or a standalone network?

Turn off firewall from both system.

Its a standalone network and belongs to the same workgroup. I even tried it with firewall off, but no help...

setup ip address such as 192.168.101.101 and so on with gateway as 192.168.101.101 on all machines.it should work fine.

If u have installed Windows XP SP3 in recent days ........ then try uninstalling it becoz it is very less supportive to the programs and in ur case may be with ur connection too
