die blizzard die! D3?

rating:8.7\10 .pretty high rating for a pakistani movie(for any movie for that matter).

The movie revolves around a young Pakistani man (Shaan) who goes to the United States for higher education. During his study years, the tragic events of 9/11 take place during which the World Trade Center is turned into dust. In a long array of investigations and arrests, the young man gets arrested by the American authorities; and his younger brother is being motivated by his old extremist friend Shershah (Hameed Sheikh) on the path of God and to quit all musical activities in favor of the "straight" path. Meanwhile, his uncle (Humayun Kazmi) arrives from the UK with his only cousin Mary (Iman Ali) who wanted to marry her non-Muslim boyfriend back in the UK against her family's wishes. He brings her to Pakistan where Shershah trucks them to their village in a tribal area near Afghanistan. They try to escape but Shershah follows her and brings her back to the village.
the movie is said to be close to ground reality in pakistan.I am 'getting' it right now(hell,I dont think this was ever released in India),gunna watch it tomorrow and post about it,whatever,:p.

2 very striking things about the movie:

1.The chick,Iman Ali,is super hot.

2.The music is amazing.
here is a song called bande:

*www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcnFCb1D8_k (and no that guy is NOT arjun rampal)

heard it last night on 95 FM and googled the movie and the song out. This particular song is an adaptation of a poem by sufi poet Bulleh shah(bulla ki jaana main kaun by rabbi shergil, ring any bell?).Though, you'll have to read his whole biography to understand the lyrics(which are mostly hardcore punjabi)

p.s. this thread sounds so stupid but I cudn't care less.:>

lol. That song goes as bundeya ho. The movie was a flop.

wee!! time to bash noobs, who think they are no noobs!

1.lol
2.The song is called Bande(as named in album).it doesn't matter how it goes to name it.Aamir music cd also has this song,I dunno why or how though.
3.Apparantly,flop or hit doesn't decide how good a movie is,and some movies are just made to flop(aka they are not commercially released).A sustained 8.7 ranking at imdb is very good(it stayed at 9 for a long time before it came down to 8.7).

I haven't yet seen the movie, just impressed by the imdb rating and this amazingly good song and its meaning.

Anyone looking for any kind of 'link' can Pm me.:|

agree song is quite good...must have heard it atleast 25 times...
but imdb rating for subcontinental movies cannot be trusted, coz the number of people voting for them is relatively low!!!

Movie wasnt a flop. I saw it and I must say, it is far better than most of the bollywood cr@p. Not a "OMG what a movie! Great !Awesome !Superb!" kind of movie, but it is still very effective in getting the message across. It is worth a watch.
EDIT: The movie was released in India and did star Naseerudin Shah

Movie was indeed released in India and was liked by most who watched it. I had seen it too. A decent watch.

Its an awesome movie. It has great emotional acting by that extremist friend, good background sounds and sound effects. The song are boring somewhat. I personally did not like its climax, I feel it could have been more dramatically and larger-than-life style. ya, the chick is hot ;)

The music, is good, but I dont feel its awesome. Max I can say that its in sync with today's generation, nothing more than that. frankly, I dont think its a 8.7 worth. may be because its on a controversial and contemporary issue, the reviewer might have rated it highly as it add social value. Personally, i think its just worth 7. If you have heard Jal's music, you can relate to it.

Also I am surprized that this movie was released in pak. Looking at the type of politics they have their, I cant figure out how such a movie was allowed for public???

The movie was very much released in India. In most probably all multiplexes and in all (?) states.
It was very much praised by Indian critics. Another movie of the same director was also released in India which was flopped (Ramchand Pakistani or something was the name).

Were u sleeping till now?
