I wish to focus on J2EE development. Could anyone suggest an IDE for creating programs. I don't want to have a headache setting up the compiler. Is there any simple one available? I am trying to download netbeans right now.

oh... ok. I am right now still in helloworld stage. javac console line seems to work fine. Eclipse seems to be a 200 mb download. Hopefully it will be downloaded by tomorrow night. :-(

Also see *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31989 though it mentions ubuntu, but almost all applications are available in all the distros.

ok, got eclipse installed taking over 50 hours and now harmax comes in here to tell me this. Couldn't you tell this before?
<No offense intended. har... har.... har...>
Anyway. Got eclipse to work and got the helloworld program to run on it. But I feel it is too slow. Why is that. Also my open suse 10.2 seems to get slower and slower as it runs. I assumed that linux can stay on without being turned off for years together.
