Is networking domain a low paying job?

i Saw, u people writing Software Engineers.
But SOftware Engineers, as in what sense.
it is a broad Generic Term, having Programmers, Testers, Designers, etc.
Which one ?

'coz i also wish to go for NetWorking as a carrer path.
m Currently doing B.Tech, would like to do Cisco Certifications & MS in NetWorking.
AFter this, What & how are the Job Prospects ???

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but this little piece was like a hard hitting revelation for me.
4. Yes job can be tedious and hetic as flow of work is not constant, there may be days when you dont have any pending tickets and not much to do, but when there will be any system changes or installation of new systems you might have to spend 2 days in office.

but being every parameter similar same guy can enjoy easy life and get success easily if he chose s/w jobs instead of h/w ones

I always wondered why the F they always ask you to be comfortable working in shifts ? until now.

I don't think s/w people have to put up with this problem, ever.

On Topic: An MBA will definitely open more channels of employment but for that to happen, first you need to, ought to, expected to have at least some work experience if you are looking for a good management program from a decent enough B-School (work ex has to be relevant)
