Is Galaxy Note 1 worth a buy, considering my requirements ?

I am considering note 1 after the recent price cut. My requirements are as follows :

1. Stream 720p videos lag free in the browser.

2. Play back 720p and 1080p downloaded videos lag free.

3. Good lag free Browsing experience.

4. Decent battery life.

5. Regular phone features like calling, messaging and stuff via apps like whatsapp, viber etc.

6. Tv out feature, either via hdmi port or mhl.

* I am not a gamer. Just play the odd game occasionally.
* Same holds good for camera. Just for occasional clicks.


Presently I am using a BB Playbook and Sony xperia mini pro sk17i which is serving my above needs. The recent price cut of galaxy note @ 21.5k coupled with "Samsung own now" emi offer is kinda prompting me to replace 2 devices with one.

So guys, is it advisable to go for Note 1? Or am I better off with what I have?

Note : I haven't considered similar spec lower priced phones owing to lack of tv out feature. I haven't considered higher priced or better spec phones yet because I am not sure if I need them based on my requirements.

As far as your requirements are concerned...the first one is a bit tricky as Flash player is no longer available in Play Store. But you can find apk for it. But many new browsers too don't support flash like Chrome & new Opera too

You have to compromise on this. Note 1 has a poor battery life. Expect a maximum backup of 6 to 8hrs with Video playing and browsing. Note 1 does get heated under heavy usage.

Except poor battery life Note is a good option or you can consider Nexus 4 and HTC One X if you can extend your budget

heyy i too am in same dilemma... Note 1 is available at 22k now...
but i am not sure whether i should go for it
as i'm worried about the out-dated-ness of note 1....

my requirements are:

1. good display + good viewing angles

2. good cam.

3. decent battery (enough juice to push through atleast 15 hrs on 2g)

4.good browsing specs

5. not a hardcore gamer.

6. budget 25k (as of now)

and guys please also suggest what other options i have...

go for Huawei Ascend Mate if you want a super massive screen and Note2 like internals under 25k. BTW N2 is available for 27.5k at flipkart. but Mate has non-removable battery (4000mah) and a low quality cam.

Now a days (till 1st July) Note 2 is easily available for 28k everywhere(online as well as local shops).
I am also gonna buy it today for someone, one can't get any better option than that.
