install error in windows-xp

hi friends,
a few days back i was installing win-XP on my freinds comp
i got the following error msg with a blue screen of death

STOP:
techical information
0X0000007b 0Xfafaf63c 0Xc0000034 0X00000000 0X00000000

he has a SATA drive,a AMD athlon,Sony combo,windows-2000 running

in setup i choose new installation(seprate install i.e dual OSES)
in advanced options i only checked I WILL CHOOSE drive letter during install

then it started copying files.then after a resart the setup booted itself
in footer the last msg before crash was:-

STARTING WINDOWS... plese wait

has any one got an idea what went wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you loading SATA drivers for the Harddisk during setup? I think it asks you at the beginning to press a button (F3 I think) if you want to install SATA drivers. Then, you have to put a floppy with SATA drivers for your harddisk and then let Windows proceed.
