What I dont understand is why would a Free Office Apps be developed as a RAM hogger ??

Did any one till now Noticed its System Requirement ??

says Minimum 1 GB RAM... a free Office Apps developed on back bone of Open Office (which needs just 128 MB RAM) would need 1 GB RAM ???

Personally to me, its unexceptable...

I think they are using Java.

I worked in Java long back, I remember it needed more RAM to run Java apps.

I do not know whats the present situation (I do not work in Java ay more) and not sure in which lang these altarnatives are done (and why they are doing), but it s just a guess.

This is from another thread, but I think worth mentioning

I tried it.

It has thi FFx like tab feature so you can open all the three things in one window, there is wordprocessing, spreadsheet and presentation, all in its own tab in single window. That makes it a killer app a

and it looks good too.

Wats more, not only is the software slow, its also being distributed from slow servers. Took me 5+ hours to download it.

Software slow / server slow - but does it has the very essentials for a normal user or corporate user need ?

Then it worth the time to download, instaed of paying huge $$$$ or using pirated office suits.
