i burned dvd after complition it says error while verification....is the dvd ok?

i have a sony dvd writer .
and today i burned a dvd at 8x and checked on verify disc after burning(i always do that).
the burning process got over succesfully but during the data verification process it gave "data verification error".
i have been burning dvd in past but didn't have this problem.this is first time.
how do i make sure the disc has been properly burnt???

wat burnin sw r u usin?
if usin Nero den use Nero's CD-DVD speed tool to check it
if it passes den der shud b no problem

also r u usin a different media to burn this time from the previous occasions

also try burnin it @ 4x instead of 8x
