HTC buys S3 Graphics for $300Million

HTC today announced that it has bought US based S3 Graphics for $300 million. Company stated that this acquisition will help it in enhancing its multimedia capabilities. S3 Graphics is a California-based graphics technology licensing firm.

Qualcomm is world leader in mobile SOCs followed by Samsung (credit to Exynos) & TI (Android ice cream sandwitch will be optimized for their OMAP4 SOC).

now Motorola has Freescale (was once a part of Motorola), Samsung has their world-famous Hummingbird & Exynos, SE has Ericsson SOC (though they don't use them in the highend market) & now LG too is planning its own SOC for 2012. who is left out? HTC & so they want their own SOC now. Apple has its A-series.
