HSF for core i5

OKay, thanks. Those temperatures are on the slight high side. But you can live with it. When you reseated the HSF, did you apply TIM...?

If you are not OC'ing, then I think no need for after market HSF.

@ asigh I ran the test today again but got slight lower temps.Tj max was set at 90 and to work on 4 threads option was set.Posting the screenshot.

No i didnt apply tim after reseating cause i dont have any but the humming sound is gone after reseating.What should optimum stress temp for i5:?:

They are fine..as I said. Slightly high. Apply TIM, you should get 2-3 degrees lower. That is the best the stock HSF will do.

If i don't apply any TIM will it harm the proccy or any components.

Dont have any quality ones available here.

I've heard of artic silver.Is it good?

The TIM insures that the HSF and the CPU head make a perfect join, else at times there are air pockets.

Arctic Silver is nice, CM Nano Fusion is nice too.
