Hi,

I have decided to go for a major upgrade and I have decided on the following specs. Finally I will ditch my 3 year old system. And as I am into gaming, I have also decided on the AMD based platform.

Motherboard:Asus A8N-E (Nforce4 ultra chipset)---Price ~ 6,500
Processor:Athlon 64 3000+ (939 pin)---Price ~ 7,500
Graphics card:Asus or XFX 6600GT 128MB DDR3 PCI-express (I am not getting the Leadtek/Gigabyte brand here in Kolkata.)---Price ~ 10,500

Total cost ~ 25,000

In addition to that I will use the 512 MB DDR RAM from the previous system. The other components essentially comes from the previous system.

Please suggest any changes. I want to be relatively futureproof for the future 2 years. I also do not have fascinations for high resolution gaming but I am satisfied with high performance at 1024X768 and 4X AA/8X AF.

I was also considering a MSI based board (MSI RX 480M2). Is this a good choice and is this cheaper than the above mentioned ASUS baord?

My total budget is around 25k....

Thanks and waiting for your suggestions...

its excellent config for gaming also u can OC the cpu upto 2Ghz of speed

I think he is correct. The clock speed of the 939 pin processor is 1.8Ghz, whereas the same for 754 pin is 2Ghz, according to this chart:

What do you say? Then which processor should I go for? Needless to say, if I change over to 754 pin the motherboard should also change. Please give suggestions for supporting motherboard as well, and the price.

Thanks!

go ahead buddy thats a offer not to be misse but do check what the card 6600 or 6600 gt and by the way go for asus a8n sli delux u will be safe in future u wont have to buy a another card instead go for a nother 6600 which will be cheap by then but mind u asus mobd have had complants that the fan tends to conk of or produce sound so u ned to replace but its a good bord check msi bord too and if possible go for a asus sli premium if u can as it will increase the budget by atleat 3 thousand but because it has no fan and has a heat pipe it is good especailly for overclocking ur chipset and u wont have any of those fan problems also check the price for 6800 prices have crashed quiet a lot tc
