In the zone
Compile Mplayer ---- That's the best option to play any media files in any linux... search on google as to from where to download.....
use following commands and u are done....
$ tar -xvzf Mplayer1.0pre.tar.gz
$ cd Mplayer<version no>
$ ./configure
$ make
$ make install

and also add the essential codecs pack....And u won't need any other player.

cheers,

Do a search for w32 (install w32codecs), then search for libxine and install it (this will resolve dependencies for you).
