I want to know the best way to install true type fonts in Redhat.

I install it in the following way..

1. Created a folder named 'truetype' in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/ directory.
2. Copied all the .ttf files to this directory and ran 'ttmkfdir'
3. Added the directory path in /etc/X11/fx/config file.

Now the problem is though these font files are now availabe to

openoffice.org but not to the rest.

Make sure following line exists in X86 config file
Load "freetype"
Load "xtt"
Load "truetype"

Hope this helps
