How do you get rid of this...

hey guys,

i guess this is the silliest thing i ever asked on a forum!

just want to know how to get rid of the colored boxes under the icons? i mean i want to merge them with the wallpaper behind...

pls help!

u mean "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"?

its already selected..! no help de-selecting it also!!

Then make sure the option "Lock Desktop Icons" is not enabled in desktop context menu.

As suggested by "Vista", I selected "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" and it worked.

Try one more thing. Make sure that u arnt using Active Desktop feature in Desktop Properties!
Try to apply a BMP image as desktop wallpaper.

actually there was a site 'checked' in active desktop feature.. tat was messing wid the desktop settings!!

should have been "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" instead of "Use dark shadows for icon labels on the desktop"

meant that...!
