Why not suggest an APU? They offer better bang for the buck.
A10 5800k is the obvious choice for a budget gaming pc, but for a home pc meant for day-to-day tasks, 13 3220 is more suited as it is ahead of 10 5800K in day-to-day tasks. Read this comparison: A10-5800K vs. Core i3-3220 CPU Review | Hardware Secrets

Infact for OP's requirement 3225 is very much apt (with HD4000). Reason: Lower power consumption, less heat & very good in single threaded performance.

Recently we have built an AMD A10 rig and we were pretty much happy with it. Cost wise I didn't see any difference between i3 & A10.

In day to day application, there will be no visible performance difference between an i3 3220 and A10. In fact, tasks like video encoding, a10 will be faster. But in IGP performance, there will be an huge difference. Beywwen these two. So buying an A10 by paying 1k extra is actually justified.
