1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Browsing, MS Office, gaming (but not hardcore. This is for my cousin who would be happy if PC runs Black Ops2 or Battlefield 2 or similar 2011ish games at 1600x900 resolution with mid to high settings)

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
25k + 2k max

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: NO

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 8 (will be purchased outside of budget)

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 500gb or more

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: No. He plans to continue using his 6 months old Samsung LED - S20B300B (1600*900)

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Want to buy everything except monitor

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Around new year

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: No. Will be done by assembler

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Allahabad. Prefer locally but no issue with flipkart

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: The PC is for my cousin who is upgrading from his Pentium 4 HCL beanstalk. He has some craze for intel so i would prefer you guys to suggest an intel i3 or i5(if it fits the budget)

Changes-
1)RAM- Corsair 1333 -4gb (Value select) to save 400 bucks.
2)PSU-cx430V2 to save 700 bucks. (more than sufficient for 3220+7550)
3)HDD - get caviar blue by adding 300 bucks.
Net change - 800 bucks saved.

Final rig -
i3 3220-7k
Gigabyte b75m-d3h-4k
Corsair 1333 (Value select) 4gb- 1k
Corsair cx430V2-2.5k
Sapphire hd 7750-6.5k

Now the net is 26.8k.
Initially it was ~28k.

Corsair=1k
cx430=2.5k
7750=6.5k
elite 210=2.5k
500 GB=3.3k

around 28.8K...you can try this....even a lower version of FM2 will also be apt....5600K or so...

But Sumon, if OP is going for Trinity and HD 7750, then the IGP of it will not work in parallel to provide Hybrid CrossfireX solution. maximum OP can go with HD 6670. Also if he goes for A55 chipset based mobo, he will lose both USB 3.0 and Sata 6 Gbps ports. He needs to spend another 1K to get a good A85 chipset based mobo which provides the above mentioned functionality. Also OpenCL acceleration, a big point for 5800K will not work here as OP is going for HD 7750 which will disable the IGP of 5800K

Since gaming is of primary importance, better take a look at this.

Processor : Intel® Pentium® Processor G645 - Rs 3450
Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H - Rs 4350
Ram : Corsair Value Select 4GB - Rs 1150
GPU : Gigabyte HD7770 - Rs 8200
HDD : WD 500GB - 3300
DvD Writer : Samsung SH - S223F - Rs 950
PSU : Antec Basiq BP350 350W / Corsair CX430V2 - Rs 1800/Rs 2500
Cabinet : Generic Large Cabinet (foxin Iball Zebronic Etc Etc)- Rs 900
Keyboard & Mouse - Rs 450

Total - Rs 24,550.

Concentrate more on the GPU and an adequate CPU.Games will run better on this set up than an i3 3220 with a 7750.

didn't look at the IGP part...but IMHO a quaddie would be a better option :)

Thanks for the help guys. Will it make a big difference if I go for i5-3470 or 3570 + decent Asus/Intel mobo and postpone gfx card f or 6 months? How is Intel HD2500?

relatively bad compared to HD4000 or even HD3000.it is enough though to play HD content fine.if gaming is your focus then don't skip the gfx card but if overall performance is your focus then go for a quad core i5 & buy gfx card later.

OK so what will be the best i5 configuration if I skip gfx card. Dont know anything about mobos. Can I fit something with a BT in my budget (just a desire not priority). I prefer ASUS/ Intel boards because those are easy to find in local markets. Also suggest a PSU that can handle gfx card later on

I think OP can also go with the following motherboards which are better than the MSI one but not as pricey as the H77-DS3H.

Asrock H77 Pro/MVP @ 6.8K LINK
Gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H @ 6.58K LINK
