Ok ppl this is the log of Hijackthis. I have been getting annoying popups and sites r being opened automatically in my pc so pls someone help me.

1.Download L2MFix:

2. Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter.

3. After a while notepad appears with the log, paste the contents here, just wanna be sure.

Please look into ur temp folder by:

Start>Run> %temp%

See if these are there:

• upd204.exe

  upd207.exe

  upd209.exe
  UpdInst.exe

Also check for them in your C:\Windows\System32 and System and Temporary Internet Files


If there, delete them and run l2mfix again. Select option #2 and let it do its job. Again a log appears, post it along with a fresh HJT log.

If the log doesnt appear automatically after the completion of running option 2, then there will be a file called second.bat in the same folder where L2MFix.bat is located. Run this second.bat file to get the second log. Post it back here.
Also, post whether the popups and redirections are present or not.

Now before trying out your tip I scanned my hdd (putting it as a slave to my comp) using KAV 2006. It removed 25 files frm my hdd all were detected at adwares and trojan downloaders., After that scan all the popups were gone but the automatic pages opening were still there. But after ur fix that also has stopped so thanks again for ur help.
