help needed in sony xperia sola root

guys i have sony xperia sola ..... I want to Upgrade with ICS ..... does ne1 has the link for ICS compatible with xperia sola and also for rooting in sola on net the instructions are not understandable ....please some1 tell me how to root Sony xperia sola

Its easy.Dont worry.

I rooted my Sola yesterday.Instead of "Advanced Stock Kernel" you could use

ClockworkMod Recovery Kernel

Plus point is Recovery option.

There no Custom ICS or Jellybean ROMs available for Sola.

Only one GB Custom Rom is available i.e SSpeed ROM.

nCyCoD, how u rooted using clockworkmod ?? it needs root access?? tell me from beging wat u did ? even abt unlocking bootloader??

Please read the tutorial link posted by randomuser111 and get bootloader unlocked.


Then read CWM link that I posted and flash the phone with kernel.
After you flash it your phone will be rooted and CWM installed.

Yes if u unlock bootloader u will lose contacts, apps and everything. So perform a backup first.

To get the blue LED (fastboot mode) you need keep the volume up key pressed and connect usb to phone.

Yes flashtool is must, you can't unlock bootloader without it. Yes you may download Android SDK or just download the Android_with_usb file from the XDA tutorial page link. Either will do.

and also TELL ME IS IT POSSIBLE TO MAKE NEW CUSTOM JELLYBEAN ROM FOR MY DEVICE which has other chipsets ?
i have heard that sony uses other chip which SAMSUNG ,HTC, MOTOROLA [these 3 company uses same chipsets] doesnt so thats why sony is taking time to release upgrades ...

I hav downloaded all files. The blue Led glows for 1 second.
But when i write
1) fastboot flash boot kernel.elf
2) fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
3) fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xAECA8ECD3919117C

it says Waiting for device ...den nothing comes

What should i do?
