Help me choose between these 2 laptoos

My First on this forum!

I am looking for a laptop around 35k... I searched quite a bit & have found these two laptops with best features at that price range. Both are from Asus....

1) Asus A53sj

2) Asus K53sc

Specifications look pretty same to me. Both have 2nd gen i5 processors, 4 gb ram, 520M 1 gb graphics card (Entry level card, from what I have read). The first one has 500 hdd as against 640 of the second. Price is still the same. While first is out of stock, second is available.

What's the difference between these two models? A series & K series? Same price & almost same config baffles me.

By the way any other laptop with similar config in similar price range that I should take a look at?

My use would be pretty general.... I am not into serious gaming. I don't play any action games... May be occasional sports games like Fifa 11, or games like Age of Wonders etc... I use Photoshop extensively & do video editing at times.

BTW ASUS laptops are very much reliable and good performers.

for the specs price is ok. AFAIK DV6 ships with either HD6490 or no GPU along with 2nd gen Core i5. so spec wise this one is a winner. rest depends on availability.

battery life isn't so easy to compare. with different specs, they will offer different battery life. so can't just say Asus lappies will offer more more backup compared to HP/Dell/Sony, etc.

if you really concerned about battery life, check AMD Llano based laptops. but processor will be lot slower.

HP DV6 6140TX has i7 2630QM, 6770M @ 48k.
IMO its worth the 3k as the GPU is like 1.5x faster.

The 6770 makes a difference. i know because even my 6750 is better than 540m (~40fps in dirt 2, 800*600, medium preset, mirrors off, 2xMSAA) So the 6770 must have an even bigger advantage.
