I often have to make lists of some items which is like a quotation for the buyers. I have all the items and their prices listed in a separate sheet. For the name of the items i use drop down menu. Is there any way so that the price is taken automatically in the cell on its right?

How many items are there in the drop down?? May be you can use the iif() or if() function. I don't use excel anymore, so don't remember whether its iif or if. But the syntax is

if (condition,action.true,action.false)

So you will have to use nested if(). But if there are too many items, it will be very inconvenient and you may have to take help of macros (VBA).
