i install fedora 7. installation completed succesfully.
But i cant login [as root & user]. When i enter username and password
i get error that

Code:
cannot start session due to some internal error
when i click OK i get message that

Code:
Your session only lasted less than 10 seconds
If you have not logged out yourself this
could mean that there is some installation
problem or that you may be out of disk space.
Try logging with one of the failsafe session
to see if u can fix this problem

(~/.xsession-errors file)

session_child_run Couldnot exec
 /etc/x11/xinit/xsession default
i installed fedora on
intel P4 2.6GHz
256MB ram
10GB for root partition[reiserfs]
500MB for SWAP

there are random reasons:
first,check ur partition using fsck.may be u shud have shut down in a power out?
sometimes after 2 or 3 attempts this problem disappear.
solution is that u need to remove ~/.gnome2/ directory using a live cd.

the biggest no 1 reason is that ur fedora partition is full.clean /tmp directory

and another reason is that ur /home/user dir is set as /root wrongly(bug)

for that u have to login as root and use user/group management tool to set it correctly.

+BAd Install due to bad CDROM/ISO file burnt or due to installation in the presence of bad RAM!!

Try reinstalling clean as a last resort!!

Thats where you have gone wrong. Though Fedora works on different file-systems, including FAT i suppose, it is recommended that you install Fedora on an ext2 or ext3 File System.

Try installing it on ext3 by reformatting.

^Means the recommendation part! Reiserfs is fine. So its irrelevant here whether he installed it on ext or reiserfs.

Bt the recommendation part, yea FAT is generally not recommended!

@Vinstar : Try updating also.

@The_Unknown - He's just unable to start X.

A corrupted install does this in Fedora, as already said. Re-install, the bad but cleaner way out.
