Harddisk error

harddisk is not booting.if i try ubuntu it shows this error:

DBus error org.gtk.Private.RemoteVolumeMonitor.Failed: An operation is already pending.

if i use gparted to check the partition for errors it shows the following:

Check and repair file system (ext4) on /dev/sdd4 00:00:00 ( ERROR )

windows does not detect the harddisk.

any suggestions??


My Harddisk is Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 SATA.

no the harddisk is not detected in bios. ubuntu detects it but it cannot read or mount it.

r u sure?? if it is not detected in Bios then how come ubuntu detects it anyway check it in another pc
also try the HDD diag. tools of UBCD if possible

^^ yep, you're right - if bios can't detect a HDD in a particular rig no OS in the world can detect the HDD on the same system - so he better use some system diag tools first.
