Right off the assembly line
I recently attached my old IDE HARD DISK to my existing configuration BUT I HAVE NOTICED THAT THERE IS NO PLACE IN MY CABINET . SO CAN I PLACE IT VERTICALLY INSIDE MY CABINET? WILL IT HAVE ANY ADVERSE EFFECTS ON ITS PERFORMANCE OR LIFE? THANKS IN ADVANCE.;-)

I think you can place it vertically & use it without any issue.
But I'll recomend you to buy a 3.5 inch hdd external casing and use your hard disk as a external one.

you can use it in any position..but it must be fixed properly.Means it should be fixed tightly with screws.

you can place it vertically no problem. just make sure it doesn't move around during normal operation.. my hard disk's running that way too. won't affect perfomance in any way
