Hard disk fail's to load OS

Hard disk of segate 80 gb refuses to load windows 98 or XP After completed installing process successfully; First 3 to 5 times boots and work normally but suddenly fails to boot saying irror of hard disk.When I Checked partition table using FDISK it shows 68GB only.

Seeing such problem I performed Low level disk format using segate's DM.

Finally shows 80 GB.
After that I have partitioned the disk C: as primary and D:,E as extended logical partition. Then I installed winxp pro sp2.After normaly booting 5 times suddenly refuses and start frequently boot upto bootscreen only .
When I checked partition table it shows only 68 GB.
Scandisk cannot resolving my problem .Please..................navigate me.

Hey friend I can suggest something to you. The first thing is that don't use FDISK to partition your disk as it will not show you the exact space of your hdd. Second, try using winxp bootable cd partition manager. See the amount of space your drives are and then add all of the space it should be near 76000mb. Partition your hdd using xp partition manager. Then install your winxp. Also pls post ur result here.
