Ds is SEDHU frm coimbatore...
i like to buy a dedicated graphic card around 8K frm NVIDIA!
MY SYSTEM CONFIG:
PROCESSOR : INTEL CORE 2 QUAD 2.4Ghz(Q6600)
MOTHERBOARD : INTEL DG33FB
RAM : TRANSCEND 4GB (2X2)
MONITOR : SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER 798MB+
nd i'm using 32 bit os.
recently i came accross a term "PIXEL SHADER",Wat is it? Is it imp fa gamin?
nd temme d imp terms vch v have to consider while buyin GPU... so pls suggest some nice graphic cards frm nvidia... nd thanks in advance

for sam 798MB+, the max it wyd go is 1280*960@ 72Hz.

U can safely go for a Palit 9800GT for 6.5k and a gud PSU like a corsair VX 450 for 3.8k, considering u have a quad and a 9800GT aint that power efficient.

wait for ATI HD4770. I know you are nvidia fan but won't you like to get the power of GTS250 for 3k less price and game at lower temperatures and at lower wattage???

*forget 8800Ultra> its older than any...but powerful [better than 9800GT n close to GTX]
but its huge and needs lot more power while running very hot too. Also not available now.
* 9800GTX > it makes more sense to get the GTS 250, which has almost same core
*9800GT@ 6.5k has v gud vfm and gets the job done for ur screen resolution.
*9800GX2> forget that too. Its a dual GPU one and draws power like hell and costs a bomb too.
*GTX 260@ 11.k is a gr8 deal. But ull need a hefty power supply and it seems like an overkill for 1280*960.


I preference wud be in the order [considering performance and vfm and power consumption]
HD 4770[near 6.5k but not released yet and expect it in 2~3 weeks] > HD 4850@ 7.8k > 9800GT 512 DDR3@ 6.5k > GTS 250@ 9k.

And do invest on a gud PSU. any of em wont work on normal PSUs.

and btw, the best among u mentioned is the GTX 260. Its about same in performance an an HD 4870.

dx10.1 is the max you can get.

there is no such thing called support-problems for ATI. That's bullshit.

Support depends on card manufacturer and not on ATI/nVidia. You will see stars if you go to mercury's support center and Sapphire/ASUS/EVGA/Gigabyte/MSI has top class support structure.

ull have to wait untill 2010 fro DX11 cards in India.
Moreover ATI cards seems much better in power consumption and vfm.

HD 4770 being a 40nm fab, consumes much less power even than an nvidia 9600 GPU.
And so is the 4850 with its 55nm fab compared to a 9800GT [ but GTS 250 is 55nm too].
u can save some bucks on a PSU if u go for 4770.

a decent 2.5~3k PSu can serve ur q6600 with it.

5n temme a nice psu of 500 to 600w fa ATI HD 4770.... wit minimal cost... nw im using mercury cabinet,,,
i dont lik to change total case...it contains one extra fan... V ll it affect in any temp criteria

Get corsair CX400 Watts PSU if you'tre getting a 4770, VX450 in case of 9800Gt or HD 4850

corsair PSus are gr8 but VX 450 will cost u around 4k. so it ll be 6.7k+4k.
HD 4770 consumes much less power than even an 8600GTS. So u can save some bucks on PSU if tight on budget.
a zebronics 600w platinum@ 2.4k can do the job. [my frend is using his 9800GTX+ on zebby 500w ppatinum]
Coolermaster EP 500W is for 2.8k.
