If you can stretch your budget by 1k then you can get HD6850 but if you can't then HD5770 is the best option within 10k.

For around 9.2k gtx460 768mb can be had. Otherwise best option is 6850 @ 10.5k or so as ssb said.

But all these are overkill for ur monitor. Even a 5670 512mb @ 4.5k will suffice.

# i might upgrade my monitor in future but not now , also i wont b upgrading my gpu for long
#with 460 gtx will i b able to play current games and DX11 games with max details @1027*768 [
# if i go with 460 1gb ram will gpu b able to utlise 1gb ram or is 768 ram enough ?
# from most of the online reviews i can c 460 is outperforming HD 6850
so i go with 460

Go for Nvidia Gts 450 as you are playing in 1024X768 resolution and not upgrading soon. Gts 450 is best for you.

^^ good for now. not so good for future. HD6850 will worth the money. mayn't be today or tomorrow but in the long run.

Go for MSI Gtx 460 1gb if you want to upgrade your monitor in near future.I prefer nvidia in terms of performance. and driver support.

@JBL
if u dont plan to upgrade ur GPU soon
then i'll suggest u to go for 6850 1gb (sapphire/MSI/.....but not XFX plzzz)
it will be 10.5k or so
ask for various brands and take whichever is cheaper
MSI should be the cheaper of them all

SAPPHIRE 6850 TOXIC is a very good option at 11k. Performs a tad better than gtx 460 at stock speed. Overclocked gtx 460 like msi cyclone or evga ftw performs close or even better than a 6870.
