Hello Friends I am Devilgod. I am new here. i need ur suggestion on gpu and psu. My Budget is 7K for both.

My Pc Configuration is:-

-Intel core 2 duo E7500 @ 2.93gHz

-HDD seagate 500GB
-1024×768 CRT monitor (Dont laugh, I am not on budget . I will surely change this to a 19inch monitor).
-PSU (350w)

So i need ur suggestion on GPU and PsU. And i need graphics card forGta 4,crysis,mafia 2 type games.

For psu go for fsp saga II 500 @ 2k.

For gpu, consider msi 6670 @ 5.5k. It replaces a 5670 and is a good entry to midrange card. If you want more performance, then go for a 6750 by paying 1k extra.

^^Good suggestion. At the price range mentioned by devilgod, AMD/ATI cards are better over nVidia product range. HD 6670 is based on thie BART architecture and more than enough for your 1024X768 resolution CRT. In fact it can handle games in 1440X900 resolution or 19" monitor quite easily.

devilgod, GTS 250 is an obsolete card from nVidia. It is a previous generation card from nvidia and currently has reached its EOL. It is basically a DX10 card, does not support DX 11 and consumes a lot of power. No pont in going for that.

I think you were not in touch with latest products for quite some time.

HD 6670 actually offers better performance than GTS 250 and consumes lot less power. It does not even requires an external power connector.

Now regarding yoor ram query, the GDDR5 (not DDR5 as you have mentioned) memory present in Gfx card is its own memory and only used by the GPU, not by your computer's other components. So, if you have a PCI Express X16 solt on your mobo, any graphics card, no matter it has GDDR3, GDDr5 or say GDD10 memory, will be fitted on it.

6770 is the same as 5770, whats the price you getting it for?

Can you please post the specifications for your PSU? Full model, make, amps on 12v? Its its the generic type, i would not risk it..

also, GTS250 performs better, cos i remember that it used to be as fast as the 5750 or something..correct me if i am wrong...

No change the psu at all costs. I can predict that its a generic psu. Get the fsp saga II 500 and go for a 6770 or 6750 according to your budget.

For your current monitor, a 6670 is more than enough. But if you plan to change the monitor to 20inch or something, a 6770 will come in handy.

6770 is 7.1k in smcinternational.
