Have a look at the WD Green or Blue 500GB too. Even Samsung and Hitachi are good companies. Better have a look at whichever is cheaper and get that. All have equal failure rates.

Some UPS... Hmmm... Buy only APC UPS. Don't waste money on any other brand.

@ sagargv His rig is best for his budget.

sure it is.i just felt that if he is gaming @ full hd , then 4870 + x2 240 may be better for now. .and the cpu can be upgraded in future. I suppose it depends on what else he intends to do on his PC.

In either case , he cant go wrong. Its a fine PC he's buying.

Hello
I also needed a new desktop and have approx the same budget. I just want to ask if this machine is good for playing current and upcoming games at 1680x1050? I'll need the pc for next two years then i'll either upgrade or buy a new one.
Also can i get better config if i wait for some time- three months max.

Horrible. You seem to want to go to any lengths to advocate ATI GPU's. OP has said that he can't afford to extend his budget to get the Athlon II X4, I suggested it previously if you did not read my posts.
His max for processor he said is 4.8k
Now he is spending 7.1k on GPU.

Minus 0.5k and the GPU cost comes to 6.6k for HD4850.

Now use the extra 0.5k and Get the quad core X4 620....????
What THE HELL is wrong in that>>>???????

^^ the dual core is better for gaming ? with either cpu's , most games will be more cpu limited , so choose the better gpu.

At the Transition time from Dx10 to DX11, I don't think spending 7-8k money on a GPU of DirectX 10/10.1 class is good. If the budget is limited then my suggestion is wait for a few days until the price drop for DirectX 11 cards, ATI 57XX series.
The onboard HD 4200 GPU with 128MB DDR3 sideport memory in 785G based Motherboards is enough for watching HD movies and play games in lower resolution.

And quad core CPU is always a better option because it is more future proof solution. Now a days most of the games are not optimized properly for multi-core CPUs but the next gen games will be,probably the DX11 titles.

So my suggestion is go for AMD Athlon X4 620 and wait for few days for the Graphics card.

ATI 4850 is wrong. Recommending a frying pan is wrong. Hypocrisy and double standards are wrong. You sing the tone of better power consumption and temperatures at one time while recommending an underperforming card (on stock), not taking into account that not everybody is as great as yourself and not everybody is comfortable with the idea of overclocking. Then when a better GPU is suggested, then you have a problem with that too.

The dual core will perform much better in gaming today and the OP can't extend his budget and the Gamer spends most on GPU. The nvidia offerings are better at OP's budget and it's better if you stomach that fact. :|

Yes, good suggestion if OP is willing to wait for a couple of months. :-|

have a look to this configuration

Phenom X2 550 BE
Biostar TA790GX a3+
Corsair XMS3 2 GB DDR3
500 GB Seagat Barracuda
CoolerMaster 330 Elite
Zebronics 550 PRO

Till Now It Gets 21k

Rest money invest in gud GFX card, Speakers and KB+Mouse

Biostar TA790GX a3+ have SB750 chipset which has ACC (AMD overdrive support), So Can Unlock the x2 To x4 And overclock Like Hell coz of BE processor.

My friends & I have had the 7200.11 HDDs and all of us have been affected by the firmware issue with that series. I’d suggest getting the 7200.12 series which is not only faster but doesn’t get bricked like the previous one. Also, +1 for ATI 4770 considering it is DX10.1 support and the GTS250 being a rebranded 9800GTX+ which is again a rebranded 8800GT with the flaws of the previous series. The GTS250 is not based on a new architecture per se. Whereas the 4770 is a new architecture and also has all the advantages previously mentioned.

Bond, Desi Bond!
OP

Me too would support Cilus's suggestion.

If you cannot wait, GTS250 should be good one given that it supports PhysXand if you want to game at FullHD, my suggestion is HD4850 1Gb.

hi mate

Instead of going for a 1.7k mx518 mouse you should go for a better processor i.e a quad core.Save the money and buy the athlon 2 x4 620 along with msi 785 e51.The board is around 4.6k and supports ddr3 ram modules which is future proof. After you build this rig,you can go for the logitech 518 mouse later.
