Thnx RiGOD,

i was wondering isint ASUS better than Intel??and what about AMD???whats your take on this??

For your budget, Intel is the way to go since it is a lot faster than any AMD hexacore or quadcore. ASUS is better but costlier :)

Thnx RiGOD,

I had an Intel mobo and it malfunctioned many times, even after two chip level services costing around Rs.800 each the board died finally. My friend too had the same issue. I switched to ASUS after that and its running fine till day. I have an ASUS mobo in my AMD machine too. Maybe the Intel board would've been a faulty piece, but still I personally prefer ASUS/Gigabyte/MSI.

In you budget Intel core i5 is the best buy. And Arjunkiller is right. For the quality that ASUS offers you've got to pay more.

Alternatives are:-

ASUS P8H67-M LX
MSI H67MA-E35
ASUS P8H67-M LE
Gigabyte GA-H67M-D2-B3

Current Intel LGA 1155 motherboards are of good build quality. A lot of forum members have made purchase of DH67 series motherboard (CL and BL) and I can't remember any issues reported. So you can easily go with the DH67BL or Cl motherboard.

Battlefield 3 highest settings 1920X1200, with HD 6850 is 22fps.
Battlefield 3 VGA and CPU performance benchmark test
But 6850 in a 50K Gaming Config?. I know Core i5 is the best, but may be 6950/7850 would be decent enough for this budget, but not sure how we can adjust into the config.

Of course there are alternatives. He can save some bucks by
>Going for an H61 instead of H67.
>250GB HDD
>MK200 KB+Mouse

And could go for MSI N560GTX Twin Frozr II/OC.

rabjabber, your given config is not balanced compared to the config given by RiGOD. It looks like you didn't notice this:-
1. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)
A: Gaming (COD, Assassin creed,Max payne,crysis,mass effect,battle field 3)

So when OP wants something better than HD 6850, why are you suggesting him a lower end GPU? How come that will help him in gaming?

pranay27, here is the AMD config for you:-

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @ 8.8K
Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 @ 6.4K
G-skill RipJawX 1600 MHz DDR3 4GB X 1 @ 1.55K
MSI GTX 560 OC @ 10.7K
LG 22X DVD Writer @ 0.85K
Corsair GS600 @ 4K

Rest of the configs are same as suggested by RiGOD. The price can be further reduced by going for AMD Phenom II X4 965BE @ 6.4K or Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3 Rev 3.1 @ 4.8K. But don't compromise on both CPU and mobo. Then you can accommodate GTX 560 Ti at your budget.

Not interfering with the pros, but here's my pick -

Phenom X4 960 --- 6957
Gigabyte GA-880GM USB3 --- 5200
G-skill F3-10600CL9S-4GBNT 4Gx1 --- 1200
1TB HDD --- 5200
NZXT Source 210 --- 2500
FSP Saga II 500W --- 2200
Optical Drive --- 1100
KB/Mouse --- 700
Speaker --- 1000
Monitor Benq G2222HDL --- 7600
HD 6950 2GB or HD 7850 ~ 15000

Total ~ 48,450

Yet again, this config is for gaming only, as it sacrifices the CPU and MOBO for a decent GPU, go for it if you don't do any CPU intensive tasks.

gr8 config, might outperform Core i5 & 6850 in gaming at HD. However PSU should be more like SeaSonic S12II 520 or Corsair CX600W.

The thread starter can change the PSU as per liking, as he still has around 2K left in his budget..:D

Phenom II 960T is not available in most of the online shops including SMC, ITWARES, Flipkart etc. Only Phenom II X6 processors are available, even 965 and 955 have been disappeared from most of the shops. So better stick with a 6 core processor. Apart from gaming, it will offer better multi-tasking performance. Also useful for recent and upcoming games which are getting multi-core optimized.
