i'm waiting for the amd's 6xxx series....now when it launches i can start discussion for my new rig!!!!!!

1. What is the purpose of the computer? (Note: If you are planning to say multimedia, you will have to be more specific as all types of systems are capable of doing that)

A: gaming & entertainment

2. Are you open to alternate ideas/products giving similar better performance but offering more VFM/ sellers? If not- why?

A: yes..

3. What is your MAX budget?

A: 40k(<42k including tax)

4. Planning to overclock?

A: yup, a little bit

5. Which OS are you planning to use?

A: winxp/win7

6. How much hard drive space is needed?

A: 500gb (wd blue or Segate 7200 RPM SATA)

7. What resolution will the screen run at & whats the size of the screen you want?

A: 19"-20"

8. How would you rate your hardware knowledge from the count of 1-10? (1 being the lowest, 5 being you are somewhat in sync with the current performers and 10 being the highest)

A: 7 out of 10

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?

A: yup

10. When are you planning to buy the system?

A: in a month

11. Are you one of the types looking out for "future proof" configurations?

A: yes...

A: dont need speaker

A: live in kolkata, not to buy 4m other cities

I couldn't find the MoBo @ SMC,Lynx,itwares n some other sites couple of days bk.Only techshop.in has tht MoBo for 5.2k!!Thats the cheapest I found the MoBo for!!Maybe one has to go to SMC personally n request 'em to get tht MoBo.
Is there any other alternative for tht MoBo at tht price range?

^^i mentioned athlon 635 because he has to get a 6850. if going for phenom 955 he will have to settle with gts450 or hd5770. also do you really think numeric 800va costs 1.8k. because numeric 1kva costs 4.2k.

gtx460 and hd6850 will be a more futureproof then hd5770. also 635 is a very good processor. you wont get any sort of bottlenecks. it also oces nicely. dont know about tagan but there afaik is nothing like hx450w. hx series start from 650w afaik. vx450w suits you best here. benq is nice. you can go for them also. i just gave another option.

about the processor thing, i'll suggest Athlon II X4 over Phenom II X4 cause in many cases the Phenom II X4's HSF seem to be faulty forcing the customer to go for a new HSF. if this happens in OP's case, he may ultimately settle for a HD5750 or even HD5670.

ok so its expanded. dont know its availability in india.
dont know about tagan. ask sorcerer or asingh or topgear.
about load its best to use a psu till its limit. further load decreases the efficiency also.

i know. also nowadays the X4 955BE 95W TDP but that doesn't solve the issue. some HSF of the X4 BE are found to be faulty & heats up badly (i follow TDF only & have came across around 4-5cases in last 6 month). its the HSF that causes problem, maybe due to the small fan.

MSi GTX 460 Hawk !! its gr8 Card Full load while playing game 58 @ load temp , nice cooler u can OC up to 1GHz many of them did with that card !

the hawk priced at 14k is not at all vfm. MSI HD5850 TWIN FROZR II @ 15k is more better.
