Gaming PC @ 60K

AviralGoel

Right off the assembly line
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: I'm looking for a PC which can smoothly run some heavy games, Battlefield 3, Skyrim, MW3, Dota 2, CSGO and upcoming games for next 6-8 months atleast!

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 60,000 INR or 65,000 tops.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 500GB-750GB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: I already have a 22" LG monitor. Not sure about resolution atm.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: N/A, planning on making a complete new CPU.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: May 2012

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Never build one before, This will be my first.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Meerut, I will buy most of the stuff online.

I'd like to add that I m currently only not buying Keyboard and Mouse with my computer.

This configuration can kill any of the current games and it will handle all the upcoming games for atleast 1 year with highest settings. You can reduce the price by going for slightly cheaper monitor and a single 4 GB Ram for now.

1. Pairing 7870 with i5-2400 and DH67-CL isn't a good idea.
2. From where did you get that offer on RAM?
3. One can't install high heatsinks, which all good heatsinks are. Even V6GT won't fit inside Lexa S. I would suggest CoolerMaster 690 Basic @4.5K over that case. Or even going by cheaper solution NZXT Gamma @2.4K would be better than Lexa S.
We are not talking about funky look of Lexa S here.
4. I've not heard of any good feedback about Numeric UPS till date. Better option is APC 1KVa.

For next 6-8 months of futureproofing, 7970 is totally overkill. A 6950 would suffice in OP's case.
About PSU, OP should go for Corsair TX750V2 @6.8K or TX850V2 @7.5K

OP can change RAM to Corsair Vaue select RAM @2.4K if he wants to cut down his budget a bit. Otherwise top class suggestion.

The PSU's you are suggesting are overkill even for a hd 7870, so OP should go with either Corsair GS600 or Corsair TX650V2. BTW, why is it a bad idea to use a hd 7870 with i5 2400 and DH67CL ?

You can't actually OC even if you want if you're using Non K processor with H67 motherboard.
@d6bmg, thanks for pointing about the Ram, H67 and Non K processor doesn't support anything over 1333 MHz speed for ram. So edited my post.
