A:will be done by a assembler

A: in a month or so

A: I live in bangalore, travel to mumbai often. so i might be able to buy some hardware there

14. Mention any other points if deemed necessary
A: minimum of 4gb ram, more if possible,
discreet gpu able to handle most of the games at decent frame rates..not stellar performance but at least at playable frame rates..
dont have much preference on the make of the cpu[Intel or AMD are equally acceptable]

Appreciate the effort guys..

^^intel core i3 is not good in terms of value. athlon 640 better. i5 is expensive at 9.5k. you will have to remove 5770 to accomodate it. but if you game gpu matters a lot. so your choice.

6850 is 9.5k..see if you can get it. very much recommended.

I agree with jaskanwar about 6850. Op should try and grab it. Also 4gb ram from start will be a good choice instead of only 2gb.

Even I reccomend the same. If you get it, you wont need Graphics card upgrade for a long time!

@vickybat : Sandybridge motherboards are costlier. I'm unable to get prices of 2nd gen i3 processors

^^ op can also look at sandybridge i3's at the same price point.

^^ me too. Lets wait for their availability.

are the sandybridge i3 processors worth the wait? isnt it gonna be phenomenally costlier than AMD?
I was wondering bout it cos i ve never had a Pc With AMD in it.. always been an INTEL Guy.. but many have recently advised me to go for the AthlonII or Phenom II range cos its got more Bang for the Buck..
Any suggestion JAS?, Cilus?

^^so hows a Phenom II x4 970 compared to a Athlon II?
cos if i invest, i wanna be sure it will be able to handle some games for some time to come..
As u guys say,... Future proof :):):)

phenom 970 is 10k not worth.if you wont to be a lot of future proof :-D my suggestion is this -
Intel Core i5 2500k @ 11k
Intel DP67BG @ 8.5k
its simple get the fastest available now you can get and it will be futureproof.

but if something lesser- (though no overclock)
Intel Core i5 2400 @ 9.5k
Intel DH67CL @ 6.5k/Intel DH67BL @ 5.7k...
it still much better than those phenom without oc also..

if you cant spend that much also -
AMD Phenom II x6 1055t @ 7.5k
Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H @ 5.5k/Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H @ 4k

if something even lesser -
AMD Phenom II x4 955BE @ 6.3k
Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H @ 5.5k/Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H @ 4k

if nothing suits your budget then athlon II.

and thats the order of my recommendation. do not compromise on gpu (6850).it matters more.

I am the night...I am...
Intel Core i5 2400 @ 9.5k
Intel DH67CL @ 6.5k/Intel DH67BL @ 5.7k...

This will be much better with a 6850 ofcourse. Way powerful than a 1055t.

but if something lesser- (though no overclock)
Intel Core i5 2400 @ 9.5k
Intel DH67CL @ 6.5k/Intel DH67BL @ 5.7k...
This is better.
He said he won't OC (in the questionnaire)

EDIT: Vicky posted while I read the thread.

I hear u bro..
Aint gonna compromise on the gpu. learnt that lesson many years ago with the geforce 440 series... :) :)
i think phenom II X4 or X6 shud do admirably 4 me :)
