I too was interested in this same topic, and started going through reviews and comparisons online.
with the Nexus 4, u only get assured & quick updates to newer android versions.
The SoC and RAM(2GB) are a little better.
But overall the S3 edges over, as its got a better cam, better display & additional TouchWiz features.
The hardware is good enough to handle most modern games too.
It is more VFM if both are priced similarly.

I love the nexus 4. But in today's world of HD recording and high end games, I'll have to pick the S3 simply because of external memory support.
The N4 will piss you off in the long run.

If want to watch movies nowadays they come under 700MB with 720P so no need of Microsd card. Today even i am not using memory card.

Nexus 4, if memory not a problem........
My S2 has 16GB internal mem, of which 12GB user accessible & has only 4GB free space. Also using a 16GB SD card with 7GB free space(out of ~14GB)
