I had a Pentium 2, no idea what motherboard it was. And RAM was 256 mb. No dedicated graphic card. A CD reader. Floppy disk reader. A 15" CRT monitor. A very basic keyboard and mouse.
Windows 95 was the very first OS that I learnt to use.
And the cost of the entire setup was around 53k.

I wonder how you guys and me managed on Pentium 4 and D. It was slow as hell, used to eat so much of power and heating issues.

It was a Vintron PC. Bought in 2000 (Aug IIRC).

Pentium III 700Mhz (Coppermine)
Some customized Vintron Motherboard (SiS chipset)
64 MB->128MB->256MB RAM
2-8 MB VRAM (SiS 620)

10GB Hard disk (Quantum Fireball IIRC) (replaced once through warranty) (later replaced by an 80GB Samsung Hard disk)
52x CD-ROM drive (replaced by a Samsung CD reader and then Samsung Combo Drive)
Floppy Drive
Cabinet and SMPS, don't know the models. Branded PCs don't have their model name or I didn't notice.

Vintron 15" monitor
Vintron Multimedia keyboard (replaced by keyboard which later had its PC replaced. I'm typing from that)
Logitech Mouse (replaced the Vintron Mouse through warranty)
HP Deskjet 640C Printer (later replaced by an HP AIO printer which I just use as a scanner these days)
Yamaha Speakers (Stereo) (replaced by a local branded speakers)

Don't remember the UPS model (later replaced by APC BackUPS ES 500 which still works)

All those costed Rs.55k in total IIRC. (The initial purchase I mean).

Came with a winmodem which used the driver "Ambient HaM data Fax Voice", died due to sheer carelessness and replaced with Motorola SM56, still have it.
A USB PCI card and an Ethernet card were added as well later. Still have them. Ethernet card is connected to my second PC.

It had come with Windows 98 and Windows NT Workstation 4.0(pirated, Vintron had the software contracts with some 3rd party called Axis Computers), later replaced by Windows 95 by them, later I replaced ir by genuine Win 98, then pirated Windows XP and Windows 98 dual boot and finally from Nov 2006; Ubuntu 6.06->6.10->7.04 and the PC died on 1 Jan 2008. Well 4 years of its "death". RIP my old PC. Sold the remaining e-waste last year as well. Just have the Processor chip and RAM chip with me now (this RAM chip didn't come with original configuration anyway).

Pentium 1 with MMX 200MHz
32MB SDRAM
Krypton SuperSocket7 Motherboard
4GB, 3600 rpm Seagate HDD
15'' Samsung Samtron Monitor
But sadly had to make do with the shitty SiS 530 onboard graphics.

Back in 1996, this cost my parents, a thousand pounds, or about Rs.70,000.
