Hey guys ...
I Have an 32' LCD at home ... I recently have had TataSky + HD installed with it .... I have to say .... HD is Awesome !!!!

Now I need your help n advice ...

Should I buy A PS3 or HD6950 2 GB ???

The purpose is gaming ....

My monitor is only 21' ....
HD luks gr8 on my lcd tv... I also have a home theater system ...

Wat should I buy ??? I have 2-3 weeks b4 I buy .... Please Help me ...

PS3 will be 320 GB maybe with move controller ...

Please help ...

all i can say that it depends upon you
the game title library is huge in PC as compared to PS3, but PS3 on the other hand is simple
(i mean every console is simple -just insert disc and play)

so your decision finally

get a GPU.

you get better image quality and performance, cheaper games.

PS3= higher long term cost while PC= higher short term cost.

its a bit like inkjet vs laser printer.

As you can see in my sig, I own an awesome PC, and I also own a PS3.

My previous setup was also better than the PS3 and that was ~ 3 years ago btw.

Your setup with a 6950 2GB will blow a PS3/X360 out of water and make it implode.

Try to get the best model which also has dual BIOS.then you can attempt a mod into 6970 and get free extra performance.

If it doesnt work then you can always restore the old BIOS

My vote goes for the GPU. As piyus said, the PC game library is quite huge as compared to the PS3. Also, PS3 games will cost more than PC games. So, getting a HD 6950 2GB is the best bet.
But if you want some similar gaming experience as that of your PS3, you can add a XBOX PC game controller to your rig too.

@piyush : Yeah ... Dats wat.... it is simple ...
Also the controller play is awesome ....
But I also think wont games luk n sound better on lcd 32' + home theater ...
Also I get a blu - ray player inbuilt wid a ps3 ....
Blu ray player as a stand alone costs alot ..

Games designed for ps3 and pc should give same performance on pc as well as ps3 .... (Correct me If I`m wrong...)

There is also another point ... I can save up money and buy a decent gfx card for my pc in a year or so ... But I can`t buy a PS3 by saving money ... Also U get EMI options if u buy from electronics store .... Dats not poss 4 gfx card .. AFAIK ....

Also I think putting PS3 in my living room should keep my gaming under control .... Coz if I have a gaming rig in my room ... then its all play n no work for vizkid2005 !!!

I didnt jailbreak my PS3.

I dont use PSN for shopping.But it has good interface.I use it for free DLC and addons that need to be downloaded.

Your best bet is a new GPU.

If you are ok with spending 2-3k on recent games then...

get the 6950. get one with dual bios if possible and mod it to 6970.

if mod fails you can recover it.

but before attempting it capture your bios.

The game quality of a PS3 is not that bad. I have both a PS3 and gaming rig. I now enjoy games more or PS3. It is more hassle free. Depends what type of games you like.

get the 6950 if you dont mind the unlocking risk else the 560 Ti is the way to go.

you can get GTX 560 Ti Factory Overclocked editions like MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin Fozer II/OC instead of HD 6950 2GB.

Again, it is your wish. Flip a coin and get any.

There is no point in always remaining confused. Just decide and get it. You can't go wrong.

most OCed HD 6950 editions are non-reference designs without the dual BIOS switch. They won't unlock.

most of them, but still some can be unlocked, without not being unlocked, a HD 6950 can perform better in higher resolution especially with higher image quality.
