I dont know whether the driver works or what,but u can change an .rpm to .deb using "alien" install it from synaptic manager-if u use Debian or Ubuntu.else use adept for kubuntu user(s).

I haven't read through the whole thread, but I get the feeling your problem is because you are not able to mount your NTFS partition properly. Install ntfs-3g driver from your distribution repos and use the bundled config app to enable write access to your NTFS partitions.

Also, sometimes due to unclean shutdown in Windows the NTFS log file doesn't allow you to access your NTFS partitions so make sure you shut down properly. One more thing...sometimes I was not able to access only one of my partitions because it said I had a bad superblock or something like that. I dunno how to work around that, but just so you know...

yes, I'm using Ubuntu 7.04. I'll try to convert that .rpm file inti .deb
