Thanks again to everyone for nominating and voting in the Engadget Awards! We'll see you in a while for 2008!

*As you may recall, while not really gadgets released in 2007, both Vista and the Foleo were included by popular demand as nominees for worst gadget of the year.

Not quite. You see N95/N82 come under the smartphone category whereas K850i comes under the regular cell phone category. I don't know what exactly those people who voted for iPhone as the smartphone of the year were smoking. But WTH. My vote would always go for N82.

^^^well..isnt that obvious..while the n82 has symbian running the iphone has Mac Os X running in it..that qualifies it as a smartphone

I know technically it is a smartphone. But officially there aren't any apps available for it yet. You have to hack it to install apps which can void your warranty. N82/N95 can install apps out-of-the-box. Plus they have a lot more apps available for them. Choosing the iPhone as the best smartphone when there are far more capable device available doesn't seem like the smartest thing to do, atleast to me.

Even without any apps it is still better than all those put together. The ease of use and the interface just blows all the competition out of the water.

Yeah, isn't a smartphone supposed to be a phone that is smart?

In any case, the argument that the iPhone does not have any applications is just plain lame. It already has thousands of them, unofficially available, and come June, it will have thousands officially available too. And you know what, people will use both of them.

And it does not void the warranty. That's rubbish.

I'm not saying iPhone is not a smartphone. All I'm saying is that there were a lot more worthy candidates for the best smartphone award. Anyway its over, iPhone won, so lets forget it.

Aayush what's up with Osama Bin Jobs avatar (or is it Steve Bin Laden)?
