Dual ram problem

I am having mobo ASUS M4A78T-E and it has 4 channels for RAM namely A1, B1(red),A2,B2(black).

Manual says that for DUAL CHANNEL i have to put two same RAM either in combination of red or black.

Yesterday I have bought CORSAIR XMS3 2 GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM(CMX2GX3M1A1333C9 // 9-9-9-24). It comes in a kit of 1 x 2GB and i have bought two pieces.

Previously my mobo has TRANSCEND RAM.

1)Now on putting the two new RAMs on A2 B2 SLOT the system fails to boot. The Chasis fan and cpu fan are running with mobo light on but no beep sound at all.

2)I changed the slot to A1B1 but the result does not change.

3)I put one single RAM it BOOTS.
OS is windows vista 32 bit which is supposed to recognise upto 3.25GB ram.

What is the problem?

@avichandana20000: Dont use Transcend RAM with Corsair...

boot using single RAM each...to check whether each RAM module is ok...

then try different combinations of RAM slots....like A1B1 or A1B2 or B1B2 etc

Try a CMOS reset first.
how to do that? by picking up the battery and put it back again?

Also you mixing the Transcends and Corsairs. Do not.

misinterpreted. i have just mentioned the previous RAM name. I am never trying that insane coktail.

i have this in mind and need to do. I can let you know the result tomorrow as i am in office currently.

You can leave the DIMMs in or out. Only try combinations with the colors matching for the slots.

RESET the CMOS as asingh advised.

Then installed single module in each slot. Result is -

A1 (RED) BOOTS
B1 (RED) failed
A2 (BLACK) BOOTS
B2 (BLACK) failed

Then started combinations as follows (as per picture starting from left A1 RED,B1RED,A2 BLACK B2 BLACK)

1) A1 B1 (TWO REDs) boot failed
2) A1 A2 (RED & BLACK respectively) system boots
3) B1 A2 (RED & BLACK respectively) boot failed
4) A2 B2 (TWO BLACKs) boot failed

So I have done the installation in A1 A2 (RED & BLACK respectively).

Check the rams, does it say "recommended for Inte LGA 1156/1366 setups"?

Insert 1 ram, go to the bios. Set the timings and voltages manually as per specs mentioned on the ram. Save and shut down, insert second ram and boot, see if this works.

If it doesn't, update the bios and give it a shot.

Not working on any combination. Can you try the new DIMMs else where.
misinterpreted. combination is working at A1A2. refer pics.

@avichandana20000:How old is your motherboard...I guess problem with DIMM Slots...
bought on 9th jan 2010.

rams are absolutely fine as each of it works in single channel mode.

Hence i am not going to tweak anything any where now. 4 gb is more than enough for 32 bit system and i can feel permormance boost at least by 20 %.

Thanks to every one for suggestion and help.

4) A2 B2 (TWO BLACKs) boot failed

thats the configuration that works on Intel based PCs. where the 1st & 3rd slot should be filled at first for PC to work.

in your case, even with 2 stick, its running in single channel. ram is ok, problem with DIMM or motherboard.

looking at the details you provided, most likely B1 slot is faulty. clean it & try again if you wish.
