Hi Friends,

I have 2 x 2GB Transcend 800MHz DDR2 RAM. My motherboard doesn't support Dual Channel memory:cry:. Is there any problem running in this mode ????
And one more question, if there is no problem then what will be the performance difference between Dual channel and Single channel RAM ????

Thanks....

No problem, they'll run only not in dual-channel.
There is 5-10% max performance difference, but 4GB of RAM, u dun need to worry much.

Altough g\install a 64bit OS to make max use of ut 4GB.

even If your mobo doesn't supports dual channel two sticks of ram give more performance than a single stick ( based on my personal experience )

Yeah, they mite, although there is no reasoning cuz the memory conenction remains at 64-bit itself but it may dunno, dual channel gives 128-bit.

I hav asus M2NPV-VM mobo. with 2 X 512 DDR2 667mhz in dual channel. I want to buy new RAM mostly 2 GB. Tell me which of the following will work.

1) 2 X 512 MB 667 + 1 X 1 GB 667
2) 2 X 512 MB 667 + 1 X 1 GB 800
3) 2 X 512 MB 667 + 2 X 1 GB 667
4) 2 X 512 MB 667 + 2 X 1 GB 800
5) 2 X 512 MB 667 + 1 X 2 GB 800

I want my system should be booting up, even if it is not in dual channel, its fine.

You want to kkep your 667Mhz ram modules. Any above config you mentioed will work. But if you use 667Mhz & 800Mhz ram module together the 800Mhz ram modules will be runnin at 667 Mhz to maintain the stability.

I would suggest you to opt for 2x 1GB DDR2 800Mhz Ram modules & run them in dual channel. 2GB & 3GB ram has no significant performance diiference in day to day apps even gaming.
