Right off the assembly line
Recently one of my drives in WindowsXP where i kept all my important files gave me this error - Drive D is not accesible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

When i run chkdsk from the command prompt the error message is - Corrupt master file table.

Guys, please help me. I don't wanna lost my files!!!

Beware of the innocent
@Mutiah, I take it that you are able to boot into windows xp but unable to access one of this other drives.

Use restoration to access and recover all files inthe drive. (The MFT is similar to the file allocation table in the FAT 32 file system). Back up the recovered files and reformat the drive.

Have a look at *www.ntfs.com/quest14.htm
You can also look at *www.ctunion.com/node/38 , if you find it useful.

Thanks, i format the drive and recover the files with active@ file recovery
