Hi All,
I have the Intel DG965RYCK mobo. The problem is, it is not booting with IDE hard drive (200 GB). I have a SATA (160 GB) too, with which everything is perfect. When I connect IDE alone, or with SATA (Jumper kept/removed for IDE HDD), I can see the Names of 2 HDDs, but not sizes. When i connect SATA alone, I can see name as well its size. Please suggest me the solution. I cant tolerate keeping a HDD idle.
This mobo has a single IDE slot which allows for 2 drives. Doesn't this board support IDE HDDs ?

AFAIK, Intel removed IDE from 965 chipsets.P965 doesnt have it,that i know,no idea about the other ones. Now since Intel board has IDE slot,my guess is it based on some third party controller just like many other boards. So since its not native, you will have to use the Driver Floppy Disk while installing XP so that XP installs the driver for the controller and detects the hard drive connected to that IDE channel.
