does yahoo and msn messenger work in lan

In the zone
suppose there is lan only (no internet ..computers connected with hub)..does yahoo or messenger work in this scenario...

any tweaks/way to make it work...

if not any such soft with audio /video chat facalities which can operate in lan...

No they would not, unless some serious tweaking is done. This is coz all the chats are routed from yahoo and msn servers.

any way thanks for replies..
it seems so..

those both doesnt have audio-video facilities..
we want some thing with core audio and video facilites...

i am downloading many and testing them..if i found some thing from somebody experience ..means name it would have been easier..
some thing which is really good...and works

Uhu, Not Gonna Happen!
yeah NetMeeting is the best tool for this. Though I have never done multiple users video in that.
It can be started using

In the "Run" box type "conf" (without the quotes).

well netmeeting isn't best tool i am sure ..but it is simple tool

for us it is primitive tool and it cannot fulfill requirement of good organization...

so is simple but dont think it is best

i have found some better ..but most are high paid ones...

so may be if i am lucky i will get...cr

please dont take it otherwise and i also know the rules here but was some what funny
means if we this way..i could see only some big university and offices using computer in india..
lets forget other software..the very os we are using is...

even windows,office all are paid and they are not found in stores here(generally..ok agreement and all for big ones..)

but they are here...

we are just pretending we have not seen that...
AFAIC in this forum as well

any way our actual tropic was about video conferencing...
we abide by all rules of this forum ..thats why we dont say we need cracked software...or any thing..though to be frank we hope we will end using it..from market here or other sites...its reality

well thanks for that software
but that dont use crack software seems to be joke..for me

in how much did you bought windows..ok u use linux..
in how much u bought office..
there are many if we go on you will be caught in one...

you can say ..i try not to use..i

any way thanks for answer ..its not only being in india..
its mentality
people carry portable discs..cds full of software from here when they go to us..
even i have seen books being carried...
but books are much cheaper now in US..
