Well dont think so. cost a bomb and a month and half ago had read on Techtree that manufactures were dumping 19 inches for 21 inches and even dealars are stocking 21 inches rather than 19 inches

The size of the monitor screen is basicaly decided by the utilisation of the system. If one is at home using the pc for "normal usages" then 17 is the ideal choice. If one is into web design / fation design working with multiple windows say graphics opengl stuff 19 is a better choice and 21 will be for the cad cam users. I got a sony 21 monito from big apple in bangalore for Rs 12000/- to try out and found it completly unfit for my use why? firstly its so bulky and BIG that i have to restructure my workplace completly. Also its unmanagable to say the least I will try the 19 some time later (not available as of now) and as for now i am happy with my samsung 763dfx.

one thing i found odd on my 17' mon's specifications was , the actual viewable size is 16' , so i guess , if ur doing for 19' u might as well go for an better lcd monitor or a graphics card with tv out and connect to ur 21' tv

Its always that way. If u buy any CRT based Monitor/TV the viewable area is generally 1-2 inches than mentioned and in LCD viewable area = mentioned size.

So 17 Inch CRT Monito = 15 Inch LCD Monitor
