After Google notified Cyanogen Inc about the violation of Google Play developer terms by CyanogenMod Installer app, the company has voluntarily removed it from Google Play. The app is still available via Cyanogen website and can be easily sideloaded on any Android device but it is still an added nuisance for newbies.Cyanogen Inc.

“Today, we were contacted by the Google Play Support team to say that our CyanogenMod Installer application is in violation of Google Play’s developer terms. They advised us to voluntarily remove the application, or they would be forced to remove it administratively. We have complied with their wishes while we wait for a more favorable resolution,” Cyanogen Inc wrote in a blog post.

This is just the beginning...of chains & bounds...for ordinary human civilization by the Monster Corporate World.I mean that MS and Apple are clear about their structure, policies, strategies to us from their origin. But danger will come from Google,Facebook, etc. the so called open / free corporate regimes.

Long Live Gojira!
They're becoming richer and richer every single minute, as we all know, money makes corps. go arseholish. I'm sure Google's gonna do some foolish things in a few years. Recent example is Nokia acting like a dick with Twitter posts and such after M$'s buyout.

I'm looking forward to Ubuntu and Sailfish OS.

did u guys tried this installer???
Some one with some knowledge [geek] goes to custom ROM, but this installer is for utter noobs.
This installer will not tell u which version [CM10.1, 10.2 etc] its downloading, is it a stable or nightly.

Its fit for nothing

To those unfamiliar with the application, it has a single function – to guide users to enable “ADB”, a built in development and debugging tool, and then navigates the user to the desktop installer. The desktop application then performs the installation of the CyanogenMod on their Android device.

That's the purpose of the app but that is beyond the point...

What is important, as has been pointed out by the other users above, is the fact that Google and its Open Handset Alliance partners want you to purchase a new Android device rather than re-purpose an older Android device with a newer version of Android!!! :-x:-x:-x

Google's turning more or less into Crapple and Micro$haft these days!!! :censored::pullhair:

Google has broad authority to remove material from Google Play "at its sole discretion."
and the app was "encouraging users to void warrenty", so this was obvious.
No offence to google.
btw this app wasnt that helpful...
