Cowon A3 Screen damaged. Fix it?

Guys I have Cowon A3 which I bought couple of years ago and accidentally the screen got damaged.

I checked with Lipap systems who are the service guys for the Cowon Products and they were suggesting that the repair would cost 4k.

Do you think I should get this repaired? I was thinking maybe I can format this as NTFS and use it as external HDD since the capacity is 60 GB. Also not sure if the battery is working as well.

Kindly give your suggestions!

Couple of years back when I was planning to buy a PMP more than couple of folks here suggested to go for Cowon instead of iPod etc.
So I thought maybe will get some responses from here.

Hmm.. But do you feel the need of a PMP now? But, 4k is too much if you don't feel the need of PMP.

How much did you buy it for?
