corrupt boot.ini file

The boot.ini file on my comp is turned corrupt. How do I repair it? Every time I boot my pc I get an error saying I have an invalid boot.ini file.

this error once happened to me.Since i had 2 OSes at that time, it booted into c:\windows, automatically. When i went to find the boot.ini, it was not there. I had asked the question in this forum and i solved the problem

If vysakh's solution doesnt work, boot off the Windows 2000/XP CD, enter the recovery console and either use the
bootcfg /scan
to scan and manually add entries to the boot file, or use the
bootcfg /rebuild
command to rebuild the boot file and automatically add all available Windows installs on to it.
