converting dat to mp4... help pls

hi,

i hav a movie file which is in .dat format, size 820 MB. i want to convert this to any other codec, preferably avi or mp4 which ever is better... and i dont want any real reduction in size... its ok even if its 820 MB. but i need to get the format changed. what software can i use? wud nero be able to do the conversion? or what software shud i use? pls help me!! if its avi or mp4, whatever, pls give me a link on how to convert. thk u.

There are various softwares available. What I use is VCD Cutter. Its simple and you can even cut and save part of movies that you like. Another feature of this software is that you can even join different clips to make them look like one...

FlaskMPEG can to this job............very easy to use too. Install a DivX codec....for encoding you movie.
