Confused in upload and download speed

I have airtelbroadband 256kbps connection.Till 2 days back before these post i get 28 k both download and upload speed.But all sunddenly after that i get only download speed as 17k and upload speed as 7k for a single file(download and upload)When i try with 2 file i can reach the bandwidth of 30k in download and in upload 4 file mean 28k speed.Why i dont get as like the speed in the past in the single file???I have reinsatlled the os and No virus were found...Get me the right solution.............

Its nothing to do with your comp, the ISP traffic etc too are factors in speed changes. Like I used to get 12 KB up and 30 Down before, now I get 30 down but up's been reduced to 7. Also maybe the server you're downloading from is slow and has a limit per file?

No it's a high speed site....i face these problem with all the web..

i don't know how both the up and down speed were same , as far as i know up speed is always slower than down speed

nope ul speed can be greater thn down speed if isp has not put a cap on ul speed.
i have MTNL braodband and get ul speeds upto 35kBps which is greater thn my gen dwnld speed ie. 31kBps.

the bitter fact is that airtel gives speed in pools. so U may get good speeds at a particular time and bad at other.

u r right..problem solved now.............now i get 30k download 30k upload...
