Off Hook!
iam planning to get a new pc within EXACTLY 20-25 days from today
my budget was initially 40k but is treading towards 50k

Core i5 i750 2.66GHz @ 9.7k
Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 @ 6.4k
Transcend/Kingston/Zion 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3 1333MHz RAM @ 4.5-5k

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB @ 4k
LG 22x DVD @ 1k

BenQ 24" G2420 FULL HD LCD Monitor @ 11.3k

Gigabyte GM6800 Laser Mouse @ 0.75k
Multimedia Keyboard @ 0.4k

Sapphire HD5770 1GB GDDR5 @ 10.8k
or
MSI HD4770 512MB GDDR5 @ 6.9k

Zebronics Bijli @ 1.2K
Suggest a PSU @ 2-2.5k
(selecting a cheap cabby just to save some money pl dont suggest the CM elite series)

Total : 40-42k without GFX Card

the only area i could save some money is gfx card

i intially decided to get 4670 @ 4.5k but i got to know that it will not be able the handle a 24" monitor at even min settings

my second choice was 4770 @ 6.5k but this wont be future proof as it dont wish to upgrade for atleast 3-4yrs

so now just 5770 remains which is @10.5k
i decided to get new pc w/o gfx card but got to know that p55-ud2 does have a onboard gfx card

will the price drop to 8-9k within a month :|

The configuration you have mentioned is a powerful one and a PSU of 2.5k won't be able to power it up. Instead go for GlacialPower 650W AA @ 4.7k.
2ndly a 24" monitor is a overkill for the budget u have suggested, considering your graphics card. A HD 4870 or GTX 275 will be required for it. Instead go for the 22" model from Benq at 8k.
For graphics card you can wait a bit. Although HD 5770 is a Dx 11 GPU, it is below in performance than HD 4870, And I'm not sure that it will allow u to play today's game in the highest setting enabled. It's price is not justified at all.

I would suggest get the most powerful within your budget, which would the 4870 or the 4890 (for a bit more cash). These two will rip your games at 22". The 5770 is not as powerful. Both 4890+4870 are work horses.

For 5xxx cards, it better to get a high end one or get non at all. It will take a while for Dx11 to be mainstream, and by then the 5xxx will be old.

Regarding price drop...well I gave my vote to 'NO'

AMD Phenom II X4 925: 7.5k
Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-US2H: 5.5k
Transcend/Kingston 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3 1333MHz RAM @ 5.5k

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1Tb: 3.9k-4.1k
LG 22x DVD @ 1k

BenQ 24" G2420 FULL HD LCD Monitor @ 11.3k

Gigabyte GM6800 Laser Mouse @ 0.75k
Multimedia Keyboard @ 0.4k

Zebronics Bijli @ 1.2K
Suggest a PSU Corsair VX450W or GlacialPower 650AA: 4k-4.5k

Total : 40-42k without GFX Card

for GPU, you better stick to GTS250 for 7k which should be okay for FullHD gaming. Hold on till May of 2010 when you will find the dx10 games. Then get a good dx11 card.

that is my tentative date when dx11 cards will become mainstream and we will find handful of dx11 games to play.
